p = pull of
h = hammer on
strumming patterns:
v = downstroke
^ = upstroke
Note: I have tried to give an idea of the actual timing in the
tab using "1 e & a" etc. This divides each beat into four equal
parts. You can keep track of them by saying "one e and a, two e
and a," and so on. Most people will naturally have these going in
their strumming hand while playing anyhow, and these strumming
patterns should be pretty natural.

theme riff X2
D G
No one would love me
D G
If they knew all the things I hide
D G
My words fall to the floor
D G
As tears drip through the telephone line
Emaj7 G
And the hands I’ve seen raised to the sky
Emaj7 G D
Not waving but drowning all this time
Emaj7 G
I’ll try to build the ark that they need
D A+
To float to you upon the crystal sea

D G
Give me your hand to hold
D G
‘Cause I can’t stand to love alone
D G
And love alone is not enough to hold us up
A+
We’ve got to touch your robe

So swing your robe down low
(theme riff)
So swing your robe down low
(theme riff)

The prince of despair’s been beaten
But the loser still fights
Death’s on a long leash
Stealing my friends to the night

And everyone cries for the innocent
You say to love the guilty too
And I’m surrounded by suffering and sickness
So I’m working tearing back the roof

Instrumental Bridge -- pick around on: Emaj7 G Emaj7 G D
(Picked, not strummed...)
Emaj7 G
And the pain of the world is a burden
Emaj7 G D
And it’s my cross to bear
Emaj7 G
And I stumble under all the weight
D
I know you’re Simon standing there
(Strum!) A+
I know you’re standing there

Theme riff
Well, that's how I play it. I hope it works for you, too.
Any suggestions or corrections, please email me. This is one of my
favorite songs by one of my favorite bands, so I had to try tabbing
it, and I thought I'd share!
