G’day, finally.... brass stuff written up - in text (yuck; bad format, I
know) A number next to a note letter indicates what octave above
middle-C it is (ie. no number next a note means it’s between middle-C
and the C above. 1 = the next octave above that, -1 = the octave between
middle-C and the C below - got it??? :) Every first line is trumpet,
every second line is trombone, unless otherwise specified. Both trumpet
& trombone are written in treble cleff. You’ll have to figure out the
timing yourself (buy the CD & listen to it!), although I’ll help out
sometimes in brackets. This is my sharp sign (#) - pretty obvious. This
is my flat sign (b) - pretty obvious. This is my natural sign (n) - oooo
tricky. These are my repeats ([: and :]) - fairly normal. This is my dal
segno sign (&) - wierd, and finally, this is my coda sign (@) - weird
too.
New proposed method for writing horns:
W Q EH W. Q E W E
----------------------F----
E
-----------------nD-------- (natural)
C
-----------B---------------
A
-------bG------------------
F
-#E------------------------
This is just a standard staff, of course it doesn't have rhythm, but neither does tab.
It could be added to the top as shown (W=whole note, Q=quarter note, etc) This is
just an example. View the link to the other proposed method from the main page.
Then, email me at rwtc@usa.net and tell me which one you prefer.
